Pot Limit Holdem – Betting

In other words, in pot limit, to bet the maximum amount, you first call any bets to you, then count the pot, including your call and that is the amount you can raise.

For Example: If the blinds are $10-$25, the first person in the pot can raise to a maximum of $85.How comes? At first a player must declare he is raising the maximum. Then he calls the $25 big blind, and now the pot has a total of $60 in it. A player can bet the pot of $60, for a total of $85.

The key to betting in pot limit is managing the pots in a way that if any big bets go in, you are the one putting the pressure on.
