Pot Limit Holdem – Introduction
Pot limit is the maximum limit you can bet is equal to the amount in the pot. When the pot gets big enough to cover your chips it becomes no-limit, and at that point you can bet all of your chips.
There are more flops in Pot limit because it’s much harder to raise enough to make everyone else fold. Some players prefer pot limit because they see more flops, turns, and rivers. All of those decisions will make a much more interesting game to play. Also, the more decisions, the more opportunities for mistakes. Therefore, Pot limit is a more difficult game to play than no-limit.
Where no-limit is played more straightforward before the flop, pot limit is played more after the flop, so it’s more of a trapping game than no-limit. If you are a new player, you should learn no limit first, since there are fewer decisions to make. Then, after having some experience for that game, you can move to a more difficult version, pot limit. Till then, here is some info to get you started.
